Google Expands Video Creation in Asset Studio: From Planning to Ads in Multiple Formats

On August 27, Google announced that multimodal video creation in Asset Studio was becoming broadly available. According to the company's Demand Gen update, the tool connects video planning with the creation of horizontal and vertical assets in the same workflow. For a small marketing team, the news offers a way to reduce transitions between production stages.

The announcement concerns tool availability and workflow. It does not prove that a video made with it will outperform an existing ad, and it makes no commitment to a fixed production time or consistent quality in Hebrew.

More Than One Version of the Same Idea

Vertical and horizontal ads can share a message, but each should have a suitable composition. A product clearly visible in the center of a wide frame may be squeezed out when cropped to a narrow screen. A headline, if added during editing, must remain readable without covering the important detail in the image.

The potential benefit of a shared workspace is therefore more than creating another file. It lies in examining an idea in several forms before settling on one version. A team can prepare a product-focused opening and another focused on its use, then check which explanation is understood faster.

This is a creative decision that can be made even on a small budget. It does not require producing dozens of variations with no meaningful differences.

Production Savings Put More Weight on Review

When video becomes easier to create, the important review shifts to exactly what it shows. Compare the result with the real product: shape, color, included accessories and use. An attractive demonstration is unhelpful if it shows something the product cannot do.

For example, a business selling a ceramic mug can check whether the handle and size remain consistent across scenes. A service business should ensure the video does not turn an illustration into a depiction of a facility or team that does not exist. These are content review examples, not faults reported in the new tool.

The call to action must also match what follows. If the video invites viewers to see a particular model, the landing page should make it easy to find without starting the search again.

How to Test the Update in an Existing Campaign

A useful experiment can begin with one familiar message and two versions isolating a clear change, such as the opening or camera angle. Decide in advance what is being tested and what would count as an improvement, keeping the other comparison conditions as consistent as possible.

Asset Studio may simplify production, but deciding what to say and to whom remains the advertiser's responsibility. The result to seek is an ad that explains the offer better, not merely a video that was quick to produce.
