Choosing a new computer starts with understanding your needs: work, study, design or entertainment. Below we review Apple's laptops and desktops and their main features.

Apple laptops

As mentioned, Apple's current laptops are the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The former is a particularly powerful computer aimed at professional users, with a price to match.

One example is the MacBook Pro M1 Pro 8C CPU 14C GPU16-core. This powerful laptop has 32 GB of memory, a huge 4 TB hard drive, a MagSafe 3 connector, a headphone jack, 3 USB-C ports, an HDMI connection, an SDXC card reader and more.

MacBook models are available with 14- and 16-inch screens, including models with M1 processors, M1 MAX processors that support 4 external 4K displays and M2 processors, the latest option.

MacBook Air

The second laptop type is the MacBook Air, aimed at the general public. This compact, lightweight computer has a 13.6-inch screen and now also comes with M2 processors.

It offers improved brightness, much greater bandwidth than previous models for faster browsing, ProRes support, support for up to 14 GB of RAM and 8 or 10 graphics cores, compared with 7 graphics cores in computers with M1 processors.

Apple desktop computers

Apple offers several types of desktop computers. For example, the 2019 MacBook Pro is considered a particularly powerful workstation for professional needs such as programming, design and graphics, with two carrying handles and a rigid aluminum enclosure.

It has Intel Xeon W processors with eight to twenty-eight cores, an SSD with up to 8 TB of capacity, AMD Radeon Pro graphics cards and up to 1.5 TB of ECC RAM.

iMac 24 inch

The 24-inch iMac, by contrast, is an Apple computer with an M1 processor. It is an all-in-one with a particularly slim, elegant design and a 4.5K Retina display. The Mac mini, meanwhile, comes with an M2 or M2 PRO processor as of 2023, with 2 or 4 Thunderbolt ports.

It has powerful integrated graphics with up to 18 graphics cores, storage of up to eight terabytes, up to 32 GB of RAM, plus network, HDMI, USB-A and other connections.
